Hi Everyone!  I am new to this, so I am asking for all the help I can get on how to navigate thru Aidpage.  My son wants to continue his education with this being his first formal year at college, but the almighty problem is finding the money to enable him this true feat.  He went to college while he was in HS, so he already has 6 College Credits to start him on his way.  He is learning disabled and a real go getter.  I guess what I am asking is if anyone knows where I can find grants and scholarships to assist him in his dream to be "A State Police Detective".  It has been his dream since he was 6 years old.

Hello Everyone.  Just wanted to give you an update on my car, and to thank all of you for praying for me. I only have to come up with 468.00 by Monday and they are gonna refinance my car. So that is an answer to my prayers. I am trying real hard to come up with the 468.00 it's alot better than 1000.00.  I might even have half of it by then, so things are looking up. I just wanna say to all of you out there don't give up and never stop praying for each other.

What a kind, and  honest  person those things a aree with thiem, I agree totally, I do still have a desperate need. but you know start reading the problems people have, you go to another level of gratefulness. I hope you sitill stick around, you are kind hearted, and care for people. You have no idea, sometimes, if all you have to say is that your feeling  empathetic, and you, encourage some one with your kindness, that can be a start to helping someone.. What's on my heart and mind today?  Well after reading the other posts here I am feeling ashamed for even asking for help. So what if I lose my car, it don't even compare to the problems and troubles others are having. Yeah I have lost alot and probably gonna lose alot more before it gets better but man I am blessed to have a sister n law that lets me stay with her. I see how much people are truly hurting and it breaks my heart.  I see how unimportant my problems are. God Bless You ALL and I will pray for you.

I saw your posting here and it broke my heart and saddened me. When you said that you honestly dont believe that there is a God, my heart really ached for you. There is a God and if you would like to email me, I can tell you just a few of the wonderful and miraculous things he has done in my life. I too am facing my own trials and suffering, but I am here to tell you that it is only because I can lean on God and because He is with me that I overcome my suffering. Romans 8:17 says "Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and coheirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." Jesus suffered unimaginable torment for us. His beard was plucked out hair by hair, they rammed a crown of thorns onto His head, they beat His head repeatedly with a staff, they split the flesh on His back into stripes, and after all that, He literally carried the cross that He would be nailed to on His back. I pray for you my friend Tammi. God does not create a world of suffering, we do. Someone once said after hurricane Katrina that "we have asked God to get out of our schools, out of our Pledge of Allegiance, and now even off of our money, so God being the gentleman that he is just might be obliging." I pray that you will change your mind and accept Jesus as your Savior and that you will never suffer the same way again. Try asking God to help you and then believe that He really can help you....Matthew 21:22 says "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." I pray that you will develop a relationship with God so that you will learn what a loving and kind and Great God He is! It seems that a lot of us are unemployed, and about to loose our homes, apartments etc. :( We (roommate and I) made rent this month, but unless I can borrow some money, or get some work this month (and hopefully get paid before the 1st), we won't make rent next month.  Really really scary.  The job market is not that great.  I've been turned down as "overqualified" for a couple of jobs... which makes me angry.  You're either underqualified (no degree or certifications) or overqualified, because you actually have experience!  ?????? Hang in there everyone! You're not alone.

Im not sure where to start so I'll try my best. I am a currently enrolled student at a  technical school and my wife has just recently graduated from LPN school. We have three children ages 8, 10 and 12. I lost my job  over a month ago and have had no success in finding employment. My wife is currently working two jobs but she wasnt working while in school and the loss of my job has really set us back. We are now 3 months behind on our mortgage with the company threatening to reposses our home, 2 months behind on her car, 3 months behind on the power and can barely afford to put food on the table. With the cost of gas now its getting almost impossible for my wife to get back an forth to work and our phones have been turned off which further hindered my ability to find work. Im actually posting this from the library because our service at home has been turned off. Now its getting to be time for our children to go back to school and we don't have the money to buy there school supplies. Im so worried about my family I don't know what else to do.

Hi - I live in Northern California and I am divorced from an alcoholic with a very long severe record and a stay at the mental hospital for homicidal behavior. My ex got joint legal custody, over weekend visitations and every holiday. He pays no child support and does not care for the girls when they are with him. I have refused to take my girls to see him for several months now (I even paid for transportation) because I feel their life is in danger. I haven't been able to get the order changed in court. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to involve child protective service and get them to terminate his rights to my children. I ache for you and your children especially your 14 year old. My sons suffered so severely at the hands of my ex that they both have ended up in prison. Does your son want to be with you? If he does then he needs to talk to his counselor at school and have them involve child protective services. If your son doesn't want to be with you then you need to let go for now and if he is meant to return to you and your family then he will, but don't let him bring down the rest of you, it is such a hard deep hole to get out of. I suggest you stay where you are and pray, and trust that Someone far more equipped than you is with your son. The Church is raising money to build a fellowship hall because we feed about 80 people on the street  and don't have enough room in our small hall so we need a grant and donations to helps us. you can see on the web site peoplestabernaclechurch.org and click on fellowshiphall.

As I read the story from different people we all have one common thing and that help with money for a short period of time.

So my thinking as I go is to start a foundation that can help those who need help for a short perido of time. Just a quick fix and a quick help.

I'm going to have to start working hard to find out how to start and what is needed to help those in need.

People tell us that maybe we need to work harder. People tell us that maybe we need to stop the procreation. People tell us that we need to put our children in someone else's home. People tell us that anyone can make a ton of money. But in a failing society, and a falling economy, it is easier said than done. If we work harder, our already disabled people will break their backs. If we stop procreating, there will be no future. If we put our children in someone else's home, we risk our children getting abused and hurt, and they will no longer be our children. If we made a ton of money, we wouldn't be where we are today.

But because we go through hard times, and we are able to make it, and we are strong, we grow a little more, we become a little more wise. Some of our values will change, and we will see life in a new perspective. 

My advice to everyone in need:

Never give up! It may take days, months, years to get out of the pain you may be in, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. And if no one is helping you, or giving you the time of day, there IS in fact an angel, waiting for you somewhere. That angel will help you through your tough times.

And for those of you whom feel that people in need are just beggers. NO! Everyone needs help. And these people come to you out of desperation. We look to those who are able to help, hoping that they have a heart somewhere inside. And sometimes, its not even money, or a house, or material possessions that we need. All we need is love. Affection. Love us, and we will be loyal. We need to feel someone's embrace every now and again, we need to know that someone cares.

In a world that is so large, is there anyone out there that really cares?

Further, I must say, when I see people in wheelchairs going about the city, I'm not glad they're disabled, but I'm glad that they're living life. Seeing the disabled accomplishing the tasks of daily living means that we as a society have made some progress. It means there is a little less unhappiness, failure and isolation in the world. It means that, should I myself become disabled, there is hope that I can continue doing much of what I love. So when I see you whizzing by, I will say a little thank you that you're whizzing by. I know it's not your choice to be in a wheelchair. But I have to find evidence of human victory over adversity wherever I can, or surely I'll sink into madness.

just a quick update to let every one who has tried to help my friend  out know that we have tried the places you have told us just to come up with more dead ends. we do thank you for your help and now just ask for your prayers to keep them safe when the time comes for them to be on the streets. we ask that you pray for thier health and thier wellbeing and that God will watch over them in thier quest to start again. i am sending out one last plea of hope for any one out there who can help to save thier home......... i do appreciate the advice that has been given in the past but if there is any one who can help them please contact me soon............once again thank you very much.

i must say i was surprised that there have been no responses to any of my blogs yet. look i have hit a dead in at every turn for over a month now trying to help my friend and her family save thier home.they are almost 5 months behind even with sending what  they can but they still owe almost 12,000.00 dollars. we have hit up every charitable place and churches and radio stations trying to help them save thier home that they have had for over 20 yrs, yet all the places we have contacted say they cant help for one reason or another. there has to be a way to help them....... please i am asking not for myself but for a friend and her family. any help would be wonderfully appreciated.

I am sure that I heard somewhere, that if you or a child or family member has a medical illness, that they can't cut your utilities off. Also check with the utilities and see if they have a community program. I know they ask us to send extra to help our neighbors.

ok so here is the problem...... i am not here formyslef i am here for a very wonderful family that is in crisis at the moment. they are about to lose thier home and i have called every radio station and church in town not to mention places like the united way just to come back to a dead end. this family is currently four months behind on thier mortgage and cant get a handle on it because they owe 12,000.00 on back mortgage i am trying to help find away to keep this family from losing thier home any advice or help in any way would be greatly appreciated.

So I was trying to help with that.  But I'm back now. I am a doctoral student in Organizational Leadership with emphasis in Educational Leadership (EdD). My concept proposal has been accepted and I have an advisor. My problem is that I need funds about (15,000.00 to 20.000.00) to complete the total dissertation process. I have been a diligent student while attending school to receive 4 degrees but I have exceeded financial aid. I must get grants, fellowhips, or loans. I wish I could receive the funds so that I could graduate.

I am in the process of completing chapter 3 of my dissertation. I will like to submit chapters 2 and 3 to my advisor for my committee to review.....but I can not submit these documents until I find some funds.....

Is there anyone that may help me?

Thank you so much for your advise. I'm very appreciated and I really need that. Even I never give up to pray to the God for give me the way out of my problems. Actually I almost out of the time, because I should pay for my debts which on the deadline now on the other hand I spend almost of my whole salary just for the monthly bills and daily needs.

Even though, I still hope that sometime He will give me the way out of my problems. Thank's again friend.
